The Head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the National Protective Service and her colleague participated in the IACA (International Anti-Corruption Academy) Second Expert Meeting held in Laxenburg, 27-29 August 2025, where a research methodology for measuring the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Agencies (ACAs) was developed. The meeting was attended by 58 experts from 39 countries.

Since the entry into force of the UNCAC (United Nations Convention against Corruption), there are now more than 150 national anti-corruption offices worldwide. ACAs play an important role in the fight against corruption and are therefore receiving significant support at both global and national level to ensure that they have the necessary powers, resources and capacity to operate effectively.

In 2022, the IACA launched its Global Programme on Measuring Corruption, which aims to support UNCAC States Parties in implementing international resolutions on measuring the effectiveness of anti-corruption bodies. The programme has developed a research methodology, the draft of which was validated with experts from more than 30 countries in May 2025 and tested on the basis of questionnaires completed by ACAs. The finalisation of the indicators was discussed by experts at the Laxenburg meeting in August.

The developed methodology and the new indicators will be presented at the second global conference, "Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement", to be held in New York from 2-4 December 2025.
