Organised by the National Protective Service, the nationwide competition for students of Hungarian law enforcement educational institutions was held for the second time on 9 October 2025 in Balatonlelle, Hungary. Participants included students from the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the University of Public Service, the Law Enforcement Schools of Körmend and Miskolc, as well as the Adyliget and Szeged Patrol Training Divisions of the Police Training and Education Centre.
The aim of the event was to provide future law enforcement officers with an interactive yet thought-provoking opportunity to explore the values and attitudes that protect against corruption risks and strengthen awareness and integrity within their organisations.
The teams competed in a points-based contest, completing practical exercises at five separate stations in rotation. These tasks, focusing on the expression of individual and organisational values, included situational, case-based and ethical dilemma exercises, along with one joint challenge. The activities emphasised a value-based approach to corruption prevention. The jury evaluated the teams based on various criteria — such as communication, teamwork and creativity — while also offering guidance to help participants consciously embrace the ethical and professional standards of their future careers.
Based on the competition results, the Hungarian team taking part in the international contest to be held in December on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day — also organised by the National Protective Service — will consist of one police cadet from the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the University of Public Service and one student each from the Law Enforcement Schools of Körmend and Miskolc.
The event once again demonstrated that young police officers are committed to the values of their profession, to ethical service, and to a corruption-free public life.
