Officials from the Government of Hungary are presenting the country’s new National Action Plan on Tuesday 23rd April in London.

By joining the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Hungary made numerous commitments promoting open governance, public participation and integrity in public administration. These commitments were incorporated in an Action Plan, which was adopted by the Government of Hungary in governmental decision after more than a year of drafting and public consultation.

The long, multiple-round consultation procedure, allowing for personal and written contributions has rendered the first open government action plan of Hungary possible to be a document taking into consideration both professional views and social needs, as well as putting emphasis on the feasibility of the proposed measures and the positive reception of the initiative by both the public administration and the society.

Over the course of the three day long event there will be a working level Steering Committee meeting, a ministerial level meeting and an event to welcome new countries to OGP. Hungary will present its country commitments Tuesday afternoon during the New Country Action Plan Presentations. The short presentations will be folowed by a Q&A session and a Small Group Monitoring Session, where representatives of new OGP countries and Steering Committee members will be divided into 3 groups to discuss challenges new countries are anticipating in finalizing and implementing their action plans.
