Open Government Partnership

Hungary joined the Open Government Partnership in 2012 as part of its comprehensive Corruption Prevention Programme also adopted in 2012. The Open Government Partnership was launched in 2011 by the endorsement of the Open Government Declaration, and by now 47 countries have joined the world-wide initiative. The OGP promotes transparent and open governance, multi-stakeholder cooperation and the involvement of the civil society. Furthermore, the Open Government Partnership provides an effective international framework for exchanging knowledge and best practices.

Transparency is a fundamental requirement of good governance. Hungary regards its joining the Open Government Partnership as an opportunity, which strengthens and completes Hungary’s efforts to create an open and at the same time effective governance.
