Péter Klotz, anti-corruption expert from the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, and dr. Erik Drabos, lawyer, are giving lectures to government officials on 16 May 2014, Friday, as part of the in-service training programme on measures for combating bribery of foreign public officials and strengthening organisational integrity. The event will be hosted by the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency.

The in-service training programme consisting of two 45-minute theoretical modules has been designed primarily for government officials and diplomats specialised in the external economic sector. Its aim is to introduce the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials and to sensitise government officials so that they can recognise risky situations during the performance of their duties. It is important to enable the training participants to provide assistance to Hungarian enterprises intending to invest abroad and foreign enterprises intending to invest in Hungary in avoiding such situations.

The programme presents measures for combating bribery of foreign public officials in a wider context, covers measures for strengthening governmental and organisational integrity, the means of taking action against corruption at international level, and the functioning of corporate compliance systems, demonstrating the functioning of these systems on the basis of specific corporate practices.

The in-service training programme is planned to be concluded in summer with a training for diplomats specialised in the external economic sector.
